Chichester Cathedral

A treasure house of modern art in an ancient cathedral
Chichester is not one of the better known English cathedrals but it has several claims to fame. For a start, it's the only one whose spire can be seen from a ship at sea.
It's also stuffed full of interesting modern art, including windows by Chagall and a fine tapestry by John Piper, as well as medieval curiosities. Our podtour tells you a little of the history of Chichester and its cathedral, and shows you the sights - including the grave of the first man in England to be killed by a railway accident. And the fine late romanesque and early Gothic architecture is worth a look, too.
At just under 30 minutes this is a short audio guide, and so we've made it free to download. We hope you enjoy it.
Bob Malster of Ipswich said "I took the podtour of Chichester Cathedral and enjoyed it. It's nice to hear such enthusiasm - and I was impressed with how much I found out about the place."
